Woodbury resident and current Cretin-Derham Hall senior Rob Mouton signed a National Letter of Intent to play Division I baseball for Bradley University last week.
Mouton, a 6’4”, 190-pound left-handed pitcher, was an all-conference honorable mention award winner for the Raiders in the Suburban East Conference last season. A varsity letter-winner for Cretin-Derham Hall as a sophomore and junior, Mouton went 7-1 with two saves, a 1.50 ERA and 70 strikeouts in 79 innings pitched the past two seasons. In addition to pitching for Cretin-Derham Hall, Mouton plays for one of the top club teams in the state during the fall and winter – the Minnesota Blizzard Elite Blue team.
Bradley University – the alma mater of former Minnesota Twins great Kirby Puckett – is a member of the Missouri Valley Conference. Last year, the Braves went 27-27-1 and 8-13 in the MVC.
A straight “A” student the past three years at Cretin-Derham Hall, Mouton plans on studying mechanical engineering at Bradley.
