Woodbury seniors Kristina White, Mikayla Mayer and Lauren Puglisi will sign National Letters of Intent to play Division I college sports on Wednesday, Nov. 14, at Woodbury High School.
White will sign to play basketball for the University of Vermont, Mayer will sign to swim for South Dakota State University and Puglisi will sign to dive for the University of Wyoming.
White, an All-State guard for the Royals, led Woodbury in scoring last season with a 19.6 points per game average. The 5-foot, 8-inch White also had a team-high 5.1 assists per game and 4.7 steals per game – which was a school record. She reached the 1,000 career point mark early in the 2011-12 season and currently is Woodbury’s seventh leading scorer all-time with 1,112 career points.
Last fall, Puglisi earned All-State honors by taking eighth place at the Minnesota State High School League state meet. She followed that up by winning AAU All-American honors in a national meet this past summer for her club team in California. Now, this season, she is ranked among the top 5 divers in the state.
Mayer, one of the state’s fastest freestyle swimmers, has also been a fixture at the state swimming and diving meet. Last year she qualified for state in three events. This year, she will compete in four different state events.
The three student-athletes will take part in a brief signing ceremony at Park on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. at the Woodbury High School cafeteria. The public is welcome to attend.
