Kieffer holds seat in HD 53B race

Rep. Andrea Kieffer appeared headed to victory in the House District 53B race.

With nine of 10 precincts reporting in the district, Kieffer, R-Woodbury, led Woodbury Democrat Ann Marie Metzger 10,626 to 8,772.

Kieffer, a first-term House member, campaigned on a pro-business platform, while Metzger's platform centered on health-care issues and education.

"I'm honored that the people in Woodbury would give me support," Kieffer said just after midnight Wednesday.

Metzger was not immediately available for comment.
