ORDINANCE NO. 1861
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF WOODBURY, WASHINGTON COUNTY, MINNESOTA PROVIDING THAT THE CITY CODE BE AMENDED BY AMENDING CHAPTER 2 -ADMINISTRATION: ARTICLE VII - BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS, DIVISION 2 - ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION, SECTION 2-368 (D) OFFICERS AND MEETINGS
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WOODBURY, WASHINGTON COUNTY, MINNESOTA DOES ORDAIN:
1861.01 That Chapter 2 - Administration- Article VII - Boards and Commissions, Division 2 - Economic Development Commission, Section 2-368(d) of the City Code be amended as follows:
Sec. 2-368 - Officers and meetings
(a) The chairperson of the economic development commission shall be appointed annually by the city council. The chairperson may be removed by a majority vote of the city council. The chairperson shall assure fulfillment of the duties and responsibilities of the commission.
(b) The commission shall adopt rules and procedures not inconsistent with the provisions of this division and as may be necessary for the proper execution and conduct of business.
(c) The commission shall establish its meeting times and place at its first meeting of the calendar year. Other meetings may be called by the chairperson as needed.
(d) The council shall appoint such additional standing committees to undertake portions of the commission's work program as it shall deem desirable. The economic development authority shall serve as the finance committee of the economic development commission. Said standing committee shall consist of not more than eleven members who shall be appointed for three-year staggered terms. A member of the economic development commission shall serve as chair of said committee.
(e) The city council or commission may appoint temporary task forces to undertake special projects.
1861.02 Severability
In the event that a court of competent jurisdiction adjudges any part of this chapter to be invalid, such judgment shall not affect any other provision of this Chapter not specifically included within the judgment.
1861.03 Effective Date
This ordinance shall become effective upon its passage and publication according to law.
