Residents of District 834 face a real choice at the polls on Nov. 6. Three directors are being elected to the School Board. After a great deal of study, I have decided to support the election of Mike Ptacek to a second term.
Mike has served as a school administrator in Wisconsin for nearly 20 years, as a principal in Watertown and Green Bay, and as curriculum director in Green Bay. For the next five years after his retirement, he worked as a consultant for the Kern Family Foundation, which provides startup grants to school districts in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, and Illinois for “Project Lead the Way” pre-engineering programs. He currently serves the community on the Valley Outreach Board of Directors and the Youth Alcohol and Drug Partnership Steering Committee as well as secretary of the Administrative Council at his church.
Through these experiences, Mike understands the economics of schools and the need to improve the curricula in all schools so our students can meet the challenges of the 21st century. We need his experience and knowledge in support of our schools.
Mike is an attentive listener and considers all sides of an issue before reaching a decision.
As he has shown during his first term, he can be trusted to work with administration and his fellow board members to move the district forward in meeting the continuing challenges the District faces. Mike’s strong work ethic will insure that he will continue to strive for high quality education in District 834 while being fiscally responsible.
Please join me in voting for Mike Ptacek as a member of the District 834 Board of Education.
