Letter to the editor: Lillie understands importance of small businesses

I’m impressed with Sen. Ted Lillie’s consistent stance against raising taxes. He seems to be an honest, hardworking legislator who stands up for the taxpayers of Woodbury. I had the opportunity to meet with Sen. Lillie this past week and discuss the direction of Minnesota’s economy.

I’m a small business owner in Woodbury and am hearing a lot of talk this year from Democrats about raising taxes on high income earners. This worries me because they are specifically targeting a segment of our population who own and operate businesses. Why would the DFL want to harm the job creators in this state? Without a thriving economy, which employs people of all income levels, we don’t have money for things like education.

Sen. Lillie understands that small business owners are important to Minnesota’s economy. He’s pro-business and against tax increases for all citizens. That’s the kind of candidate I would encourage voters to support.
