Police reports: Dead geese stashed away, East Ridge thefts, shady inspector, more ...

Police were called Sept. 21 to Landau Drive and Hudson road for a report of dead animals. Officers found four plastic bags filled with four dead geese. Police disposed of the carcasses.

The parent of a Woodbury Middle School student reported Sept. 21 that her son’s iPod had been stolen. The woman said her son lent his iPod to a classmate who refused to return the device.

An officer working the East Ridge High School Homecoming dance Sept. 21 noticed a suspicious student enter the school. The boy, a sophomore from Cottage Grove whose eyes were bloodshot, smelled of marijuana, the officer stated. The officer searched the teen and found marijuana, cigarettes and a lighter. The student was referred to the Youth Service Bureau.

A resident in the 2000 block of St. John’s Court reported suspicious activity Sept. 22 after a man purporting to be a home inspector came to her residence. At first, the man – who was holding a clipboard with a piece of paper on it bearing a city of Woodbury logo – asked to speak to the landlord. Next, he asked to enter the home, but was denied. The man left in a maroon Saturn car.

A resident in the 1700 block of Century Circle reported Sept. 22 that his laundry was stolen from a laundry room at the complex. Missing items included clothing and bedsheets.

Workers at Walmart, 10240 Hudson Road, reported Sept. 22 that a female had pushed a shopping cart loaded with Blu-Ray players out of the store without paying. Loss: $300.

An East Ridge High School student reported Sept. 24 that her iPad was stolen at school. The girl told police she left the device in a backpack in the girls locker room in an unlocked area. No suspects. Loss: $450.

A Springview Way resident reported Sept. 24 that her laptop computer was missing. A Woodbury man who had tried stealing belongings from the house the prior night was suspected. The woman later reported to police that the computer later materialized on her back porch after being returned by an unknown person.

Acapulco Restaurant, 1795 Radio Drive, reported a “dine and dash” Sept. 24. A male customer left without paying for his $15.35 meal. The suspect was identified; he had left his driver’s license behind. When contacted by police, he denied the incident and refused to speak to the officer. He was cited for theft.

Police were called Sept. 25 to King of Kings Church, 1583 Radio Drive, for an unwanted male who was found sleeping outside the church’s front door. A woman arrived at King of Kings and found the man sleeping near the entrance. He asked to come inside to warm up but was denied and left. Police caught up with the man, an Anchorage, Alaska, resident, who said he was walking from state to state. An officer told him to leave Woodbury.

An East Ridge High School student reported Sept. 25 that someone stole cash from her wallet left in the girls locker room. Loss: $130.

Police were called Sept. 26 to Super America on Norma Lane for a welfare concern. A woman was located who said she was living out of her vehicle and that a friend had left with it. The woman said she had no one to call. The officer paid for her to spend the night at the Red Roof Inn and told her to come up with a plan for her child. The officer also told her that if she was found walking around at 1 a.m. again with her child that she was be charged with a crime.
