Police reports: Highway pursuit, boisterous worshiping, more ...

Police checking the registry Sept. 12 at Red Roof Inn, 1806 Wooddale Drive, spotted a name connected to a woman suspected to have warrants. Police learned the woman, a Minneapolis resident, had a warrant for possession of theft tools out of Carver County. The woman was allowed to administer medication to her diabetic cat before she was arrested.

Workers at Penn Cycle, 6415 Lake Road Terrace, reported Sept. 21 that a man stole bicycle from the store. The man came in, talked with employees and was left alone with the bike. When workers returned, they found the man and the bike, valued at $3,500, gone. A nearby resident was named as a suspect.

A St. Mary’s Point man reported Sept. 13 that he struck a juvenile pedestrian while driving at Bielenberg Drive and Valley Creek Road. The man said the collision occurred when the boy darted into traffic while he was driving 10-15 mph. The boy bounced off the vehicle and after being asked by the driver if he was OK, replied “I’m fine,” the motorist told police.

Police conducting random vehicle registration checks Sept. 14 at the Red Roof Inn, 1806 Wooddale Drive, discovered a vehicle registered to a Cove Springs, Fla., man with a warrant. The man was arrested and taken to jail in Stillwater.

A resident in the 2200 block of Sycamore Trail reported suspicious activity Sept. 14 after hearing someone whisper “Hey, you,” while she was outside her home. The woman ran inside and locked her door. She did not see who was whispering. Police did not locate any suspects.

A resident in the 6800 block of Christian Curve reported Sept. 14 that she found a puppy barking at her front door. The resident unsuccessfully attempted to locate the owner. The puppy, a collie mix younger, was taken by police to the Humane Society.

A babysitter called Sept. 14 to report a prowler outside a home in the 3400 block of Cherry Lane. She caller said someone was ringing the doorbell and knocking, so she turned off all the lights, ran upstairs and called 911. It turned out the person at the door was a neighbor attempting to drop off mail that had been accidentally delivered to his house.

A Woodbury girl reported Sept. 14 that an unknown middle-school aged boy approached her at the Woodbury-Park football game and expressed an intent to kill her. The girl said the incident was unprovoked. The suspect was not located.

An officer on patrol Sept. 14 outside Extended Stay America spotted a parked, occupied vehicle. After the vehicle left, the officer followed it and attempted to stop it. The vehicle didn’t stop and entered Interstate 94 and drove to the Oak Marsh Golf Course in Oakdale. The driver, a St. Paul man, got out and ran. He was later apprehended. A female passenger from Red Wing, Minn., was found in possession of suspected methamphetamine. The male suspect admitted to giving the meth to the woman during the pursuit. Both were taken to jail in Stillwater.

Police were called Sept. 15 to a home in the 6500 block of Sandlewood Road after an anonymous caller reported a man there was screaming and yelling. Officers made contact with the man. He said he had been worshiping. He agreed to quiet down.

A resident in the 6900 block of Ashwood Road reported an attempted burglary Sept. 17. The resident returned to her home to find her patio’s sliding glass door open. There was evidence that a screen door had been damaged to gain access to the glass door. It didn’t appear any suspects made entry to the unit.

A resident in the 2300 block of Timberlea Drive reported Sept. 18 that personal documents were stolen from his garage.
