Letter to the editor: Pickleball players appreciate what Woodbury has to offer
Pickle-ballers appreciate Woodbury's Park and Recreation Dept. I have been a 20 year citizen of Woodbury and I have always been amazed at the ability of the people to reason out complaints and adjust programs and new ideas.

I paid $10 to use tennis/pickleball courts to the city of Woodbury's Park and Recreation Dept. Since the game is mostly "drop in and make it if you can," I don't see this as other organized sports or activities in Woodbury. The seniors have different needs and have presented a new category of participation. Others may sign up for a vigorous six to 10 weeks of daily schedule of activity and seniors don't choose this organized plan. Others use park facilities like tennis courts at their leisure.
Pickle-ballers have cared for courts, brought special equipment and brought people to spend their money in Woodbury from other places.
Your paper is right. This is a growing sport and we are hearing of suburbs that want to get in and help carry the load of many players. But Woodbury, don't miss our chance to get in on the action and help grandmas and grandpas everywhere have a little exercise, friendships and fun.
Instead of limiting hours of play, help us find other options – in Woodbury.
