Letter to the editor: Ward will make education a priority
I am voting for candidates for the Legislature who will make education a top priority in this state again. JoAnn Ward has my vote.

JoAnn Ward understands the important link between a quality education and a thriving economy. We need to provide our students the best education so they can help grow our world class workforce – which has put Minnesota ahead of the curve.
However, we are slipping in Minnesota. The fact is we aren’t the education leader we once were. Minnesota ranks 24th in education funding and our classroom sizes rank us at 47th. Last year things got worse when the Legislature borrowed over $2 billion from our schools with no plan to pay them back.
More of the same isn’t working. Let’s vote for someone who will once again make education a priority.
JoAnn Ward is a former educator and worked to pass two school levy referenda. I know she is committed to our kids. She will work to pay back our schools and make Minnesota an education leader again.
