Letter to the editor: Kent is the genuine article

While at the DFL State Convention I ran into Susan Kent outside a hotel that was hosting an event.

While at the DFL State Convention I ran into Susan Kent outside a hotel that was hosting an event. I introduced myself and we agreed to walk together to the convention hall. Our short walked turned into a wonderful and engrossing conversation where we got to know each other better to the point where we missed a couple of turns and found ourselves both lost and laughing. So what were talking about that was so important? Our families. About the fact that we both have young sons and the challenges of parenting in a rapidly changing technology driven culture. We shared our wishes and desires for our sons. I shared with her that my family values were the same as every other parent's even though my son has two fathers. She assured me she would work for me and my family if elected as our hopes and dreams shared common ground.

Over the past months I have spent a lot of time with Susan and each time I am with her I am amazed at her level-headed approach to the issues that are facing our families and Minnesota. I am confident she will work for all of us as she helps find long term solutions for our economy which will promote job growth and bring stability to our state finances. Many of her supporters come from the ranks of mothers and fathers that have gotten to know her through her involvement in the schools. They know she can get things done as they have seen her in action.

Susan is the genuine deal, a hard working concerned parent wishing to make our state better for all families. I encourage you to get to know her better as I have.
