Fresh off of its win at the Royal Raptor Invitational, the Woodbury girls tennis team was back in search of a win in the Suburban East Conference in a pair of matches last week, but their momentum couldn’t propel them to victory.

The Royals fell 5-2 to White Bear Lake on Tuesday, Sept. 18, then fell 6-1 to Mounds View on Thursday, Sept. 20.

Woodbury freshman Brooke Haus earned a 6-0, 6-3 straight-set win at fourth singles for the Royals against the Bears, while the junior tandem of Greta Eisenrich and Lisa Blaut won 6-7, 7-6 (14-12) at second doubles.

In the loss to Mounds View, the Royals’ second-double pairing of junior Angie Drehmel and senior Yssa Yasis won 6-3, 4-6 (11-9) for the lone win against the Mustangs.

Woodbury played Burnsville on Monday and took on Forest Lake on Tuesday, after the Bulletin went to press. Next, Woodbury is at Roseville on Thursday.
