A new women’s clothing store will open this month at Woodbury Lakes Mall.
Suzetra owner Susie Peterson plans to open her second Twin Cities location in Woodbury, occupying about 1,200 square feet of space.
After a year at the 50th and France location in Minneapolis, she decided it was time to bring the store to east metro customers.
The store, named after Peterson’s French nickname, will have women’s clothing and accessories for work, special occasions and everyday wear.
Peterson said she looks for unique pieces at different markets across the country.
“I really try to go to both coasts to really get that one-of-a-kind look and feel,” she said.
Peterson recently returned from a trip to Las Vegas where she was buying for the Woodbury store.
“It’s everything from casual to career,” she said. “I’m known for one-of-a-kind looks at reasonable price points.”
And a little bit of French flare, too.
The name of the store was appropriate being that the first store opened at 50th and France.
The fashion and retail industry has always been something that Peterson enjoys, she said.
She’s worked for various retailers prior to opening her store and she trained with Luke Storey, a celebrity stylist based out of Los Angeles.
She is a wardrobe stylist in her spare time and has worked on some local independent films.
“I grew up knowing about the retail industry since I had two relatives who were department store buyers and fell in love with the industry from a very young age,” she said.
At Suzetra in Woodbury, she said she will continue to offer wardrobe style assessments and closet makeovers.
“I try to look for something that you don’t necessarily find everywhere else,” Peterson said of her inventory.
While setting up and buying merchandise, she said she keeps prices in mind, too.
“In this economy my customer is very price conscious,” she said. “They want the best value for their dollar.
“That’s something that’s resonated with my customers really well.”
Suzetra will be located near Sunglass Hut and Hot Momma.
The store will open in mid-September. Hours are Monday through Saturday from10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
