Afton City Council approves two rezonings

Afton City Council approved the rezoning of two properties during its Aug. 21 meeting.

Afton residents Tom Crouch and Susan Herreid both requested their properties be rezoned from agricultural preserve to agriculture.

Afton approves variance ordinance amendment

Afton City Council approved an amendment to its variance ordinance during its Aug. 21 meeting.

The amendment was approved in order to reflect changes that occurred in a United States Supreme Court decision relating to variance requirements.

Street dance approved

Afton City Council approved an application from Sail Away Café to hold a street dance fundraiser where intoxicating liquor will be sold.

The street dance, to be held Oct. 20, will benefit the Afton Red Socks baseball team.
