Letter to the editor: Weik has earned another term on County Board
With the primary elections behind us, it's time to focus on the upcoming general election, especially with the new boundaries after redistricting impacted local races.
With the primary elections behind us, it's time to focus on the upcoming general election, especially with the new boundaries after redistricting impacted local races. During her short tenure on the Washington County Board, Commissioner Lisa Weik has done an incredible job representing the interests of taxpayers in the county, including veterans and small business owners. She worked hard to ensure Washington County and Woodbury's business interests were "at the table" when the new Minneapolis/St. Paul Regional Economic Development Partnership was launched to grow commerce and living wage jobs.
I've also witnessed first-hand, Lisa's dedication to public service, and especially military families, while volunteering together with the Woodbury Yellow Ribbon Network (WYRN). Whether promoting the new THRIVE Veterans Employment Initiative for Veteran Job Seekers, or traveling to Washington, D.C., to lobby for county interests, Lisa is a tireless advocate for Woodbury, the economic engine of Washington County, and the 10th largest city in the state.
As a resident of Dancing Waters, I'm delighted that Lisa Weik will continue to be my commissioner in 2013 where her leadership seniority will have increasing impact. I fully support her re-election to the District 5 seat of the County Board covering most of Woodbury.
