Woodbury police reports for Aug. 2-7

Police were called Aug. 2 to Kohl’s, 7100 Valley Creek Plaza, for a shoplifting report. A woman was observed entering a changing room with merchandise and exiting without it. She was stopped outside the store by staff. The suspect, a St. Paul woman, initially denied the theft but later admitted to stealing the merchandise, valued at $193. She was cited for theft.

A Woodbury girl reported her bicycle was stolen Aug. 2 while at Central Park, 8595 Central Park Place. The unlocked bicycle was valued at $600.

Police responded Aug. 2 to the Red Roof Inn, 1806 Wooddale Drive, for a physical domestic. A woman there said she suspected a man of cheating on her so she threw a book at him, striking him in the eye. She said he responded by hitting her in the head. In turn, she jabbed him in the torso with a pen. Police determined the woman to be the primary aggressor and reported that if she had cooperated, there would have been probable cause to arrest her.

A worker at Goodwill, 10450 Hudson Road, reported Aug. 3 that her bicycle was stolen from the business. The bike’s lock was found lying on the ground. Loss: $200.

A resident in the 900 block of Sunrise Drive reported a theft from his vehicle Aug. 3. A dual headrest DVD system ($100) was removed from the vehicle. Cupholders were damaged during the theft.

A resident in the 7100 block of Windgate Road reported suspicious activity after hearing her doorbell ring twice. The woman locked herself in a bathroom, saying she was scared. Police searched the area but did not find anyone.

An officer on patrol Aug. 4 spotted a woman without pants at Super America, 9910 Norma Lane. The officer went to check on the woman, who was described as very drunk, and found her urinating on the building. The woman, a Circle Pines resident, was cited for indecent exposure.

A Woodbury man reported his checks had been stolen between July 15 and Aug. 1. The man said someone attempted to make a deposit with his checks in the amount of $4,500, though the transactions did not go through. There is a suspect.

A resident in the 6100 block of Tahoe Court reported a possible intruder Aug. 5. A woman said she could hear someone trying to get in through a sliding glass door. Police were unable to locate any suspicious activity.

Firefighters responded Aug. 5 to a fire call at an apartment in the 6800 block of Ashwood road. Smoke was seen coming from an apartment window. A person in the apartment, who had been drinking, said she fell asleep with a pizza in the oven. She was transported to Woodwinds Health Campus for possible smoke inhalation.

A resident in the 7500 block of Afton Road reported Aug. 6 that approximately $3,000 worth of jewelry was missing from her house. There is a possible suspect.

A resident in the 7200 block of Guider Drive reported Aug. 6 that saddle bags had been stolen off his motorcycle. The bags contained leather chaps, gloves, rain gear, a tool set and two helmets. The motorcycle had been parked in an underground garage at the location.

A Woodbury woman reported a road rage incident Aug. 6 near Havenwood Circle and Springbrook Lane. The woman said another motorist nearly hit her vehicle near Valley Creek Road and I-494. While the woman drove home, the other motorist caught up with her and blocked the road with his vehicle. The motorist, described as a white male in his mid-20s, yelled at the woman to “get out of St. Paul and Woodbury.”

Woodbury police assisted Minneapolis officers Aug. 7 during the execution of a search warrant at a residence in the 7600 block of Forest Boulevard.

Police were called Aug. 7 to the Red Roof Inn, 1806 Wooddale Drive, for a threats report. A woman who listed her address as the Red Roof Inn said a St. Paul man she knows had been making threatening comments during an argument that stemmed from the man being kicked out of a room for possessing cocaine. The woman said the St. Paul man threatened to kill her and her uncles. Police located the suspect on foot near the motel. No weapons were found on the man, though baggies containing a white, powdery substance were found in the area. The substance was determined to not be a controlled substance.

A Shoreview woman reported Aug. 7 that her wallet was stolen from her purse at Valhalla Place, 6043 Hudson Road. The woman suspected another patient stole the wallet after she had set her purse atop her vehicle while she put her child in a car seat. A fraudulent transaction from a stolen credit card was reported.
