U.S. Sen. Al Franken made an appearance last week in Woodbury at a for-profit technical school.

Franken spoke to students at ITT Technical Institute Monday, Aug. 6. Franken, being an advocate of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) education, encouraged the students to continue honing their STEM skills.

“You are young, you’ve got your life ahead of you, you’ve got your career ahead of you,” Franken told the ITT Tech’s students.

After speaking for approximately 10 minutes, Franken opened the floor up for questions. He answered a variety of questions ranging from how to network to where his political interests began.

The Franken visit was the first event in ITT Tech’s “Career Week.”
