Organizers announced Friday that Woodbury will be one of the locations participating in a wiffle ball tournament that looks to be record-setting.
The tournament, dubbed “Popsicle’s The Big Wiff,” will raise money for Miracle League of Minnesota. The event will be hosted at 10 Miracle League locations in the state, including the new site on the Bielenberg Sports Center campus, and aims to become the largest wiffle ball tournament ever.
“If all goes as planned, this event will earn the Guinness World Record for largest wiffle ball tournament ever held,” according to spokeswoman Molly Mulvehill Steinke.
The Woodbury event will be Aug. 18; the tournament’s championship round will be Aug. 19 at a Blaine Miracle Field.
The release states the public is encouraged to participate and register. All ages are welcome. There is a $100 registration fee.
Teams can register at thebigwiff.com.
