Porta-Potty set on fire at Tamarack Nature Preserve in Woodbury

The Woodbury Fire Department responded to an unusual, but suspicious fire call earlier this week.

The Woodbury Fire Department responded to an unusual, but suspicious fire call earlier this week.

A portable toilet was set on fire at Tamarack Nature Preserve Monday night, according to a police report.

A Woodbury resident, who went to the location to release a chipmunk, noticed the back of the portable toilet melting as a result of the fire.

When firefighters arrived, the toilet was fully engulfed, according to the report.

As they continued to extinguish the fire with water, the flames intensified which indicated an accelerant, the report stated.

“There were not any sources of heat or power near the portable toilet,” according to the police report.

The Woodbury Fire Department extinguished the fire and continued to investigate. The case was classified as arson.
