Police reports: Fornication report, stolen safe, intoxicated lawn mower

Woodbury police reports for May 31-June 4

NOTE: This is a sample of recent incidents involving the Woodbury police. All subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty.

-A Woodbury resident reported May 31 that a safe was stolen from her house by a male she knows. Missing were identification documents and a .38 caliber handgun.

-A Woodbury man reported a burglary at the 7500 block of Meadow Drive June 1 when the responding officers found evidence of additional burglary in the neighborhood. Police located the suspect on foot in the area and after a pursuit, the subject was taken into custody.

-Kohl’s called police June 1 to report theft from the store. The caller witnessed someone running out with her arms full of clothes. She was later stopped at I-494 and Tamarack Road where officers found a number of stolen items in her vehicle and arrested her for other violations.

-Police were called June 1 on a fornication complaint at the 8600 block of Seasons Parkway. A caller reported two people having sex in a gold Chevy Malibu that was parked near the tennis courts. The call was taken as information only as there was a delay.

-A complainant reported June 3 smoke in the area atthe 5100 block of Cottage Grove Drive. When police arrived, they found a small amount of smoke that turned out to be a recreational burn. No violations were observed.

-Police responded June 3 to an injury accident at Valley Creek Road and Queens Drive. One of the drivers was turning left from Queens Drive to go west onto Valley Creek Road said she was struck by another vehicle. The second driver said she had the solid green light to head south, however, the first driver said she had a green arrow. Police received conflicting reports without witnesses on the scene. One injured passenger was transported to Woodwinds hospital.

-A Woodbury man reported June 4 that he bought $3,000 worth of gift cards from an unknown subject on Paypal. He eventually paid $1,500 and only received $7 in gift cards. He was advised to follow up with Paypal and the post office.

-A caller reported June 4 that a man was trying to get $100 from her mother’s bank account. When she refused, he began swearing and saying that he would harm her. The complainant said she believes he wouldn’t harm her -A Woodbury man reported June 4 there was an intoxicated lawn mower in the area. The complainant reported the driver was driving erratically in a garden tractor. He was swerving on the sidewalk and almost hit a pole. Police transported the driver to his residence and the tractor was towed.
