WHS seniors celebrate senior service day

Woodbury High School celebrated the end of their high school careers, minus graduation, May 30 during the annual Senior Service Day and Senior Picnic.
During the morning, seniors split into roughly 20 small groups and were assigned to various service sites.
During this year’s event, seniors were assigned to: Maplewood Nature Center, Afton State Park, Lake St. Croix Beach, St. Croix Bluffs Park Reserve, Lake Elmo Park, road cleanup along Hastings Avene in Newport, Waterworks and Battle Creek Park, St. Ambrose of Woodbury and Woodwinds Health Campus.
Other locations included: Christian Cupboard Emergency Food Shelf, Southeast Area YMCA, Royal Oaks Elementary, Middleton Elementary, Cottage Grove Middle School, Valley Crossing Community School, Grey Cloud Elementary, Bailey Elementary, Lake Middle School, Woodbury Middle School and Woodbury High School.
Seniors volunteered in a variety of capacities including stocking shelves, park cleanup, tutoring and other volunteer tasks.
The day culminated with seniors congregating at Ojibway Park for the annual Senior Picnic.
