East Ridge girls golf: Raptors rev up for SEC championships

The East Ridge girls golf team competed in a pair of Suburban East Conference matches last week and came away with its best score of the season.

The East Ridge girls golf team competed in a pair of Suburban East Conference matches last week and came away with its best score of the season. First, the Raptors finished in second place in an 18-hole tourney on Monday, May 14, at the par-72 Hastings Country Club, carding a 358 – its best score of the spring as a team. Then, East Ridge shot a 188 and tied for fifth place in a 9-hole match at the par-35 River Oaks Golf Course in Cottage Grove on Thursday, May 17. Stillwater won each tournament – with a 341 at Hastings and a 171 at River Oaks. Cretin-Derham Hall’s Celia Kuenster won both match individually with a 69 at Hastings and a 34 at River Oaks.

Individually for East Ridge, Molly Richardson scored a team-best 85 at Hastings, with a 43 on the front and a 42 on the back, followed by Andriel Aimua, who carded a 90 with a 45 on the front and a 45 on the back. Taylor Anderson (45, 46—91) and Celina Spencer (46, 46—92) rounded out the top four. Also, Ashley Lehner shot a 93 and Jaedyn Walz carded an even 100. At River Oaks, Aimua shot a team-best 42, followed by Walz and Spencer with matching 45s and Richardson with a 50.

East Ridge played its final regular-season conference match on Monday after the Bulletin went to press. Next, the Raptors take the course at Oak Glen Golf Course on Thursday, May 24, with the Suburban East Conference Championships.
