Woodbury girls golf: Royals warm up for final matches of year

The Woodbury girls golf team hit the course for two Suburban East Conference matches last week.
First, the Royals earned a fourth place finish with a 368 in an 18-hole tourney on Monday, May 14, at the par-72 Hastings Country Club. Then, Woodbury shot a 188 in a 9-hole match at the par-35 River Oaks Golf Course in Cottage Grove on Thursday, May 17 to tie for fifth place with Hastings and East Ridge. Stillwater won each tournament – with a 341 at Hastings and a 171 at River Oaks. Cretin-Derham Hall’s Celia Kuenster won both match individually with a 69 at Hastings and a 34 at River Oaks.
Individually for Woodbury, Katie Moore shot a team-best 87 at Hastings, with a 44 on the front and a 43 on the back, followed by Kalley Hayes (44, 46—90), Annemarie Fischer (46, 47—93) and Kristina Swanson (49, 49—98). At River Oaks, Moore shot a team-best 45, followed by Fisher with a 46, Swanson with a 48 and Hayes with a 49.
The Royals played their final regular-season conference match on Monday after the Bulletin went to press. Next, Woodbury takes the course at Oak Glen Golf Course on Thursday, May 24, with the Suburban East Conference Championships.
