Looks like 18 may be the magic number for the East Ridge girls golf team.
The Raptors finished in first place in the 18-team, 18-hole Forest Lake Invitational last week.
East Ridge shot a 380 at the tournament last Monday at Forest Lake Country Club to edge fellow Suburban East Conference schools Mounds View (381), Roseville (385) and Forest Lake (387).
East Ridge senior Ashley Lehner and sophomore Jaedyn Walz led the way for the Raptors at the tournament with team-best rounds of 94. Also, sophomore Taylor Anderson shot a 95 and sophomore Andriel Aimua carded a 97 to round out the Raptors’ top four. Individually, Cretin-Derham Hall’s Celia Kuenster won the invite with a 78.
After winning the Forest Lake Invitational, East Ridge earned fifth place at its most recent Suburban East Conference match, held last Thursday at Prestwick Golf Club in Woodbury.
The Raptors finished in fifth place with a nine-hole score of 185 – just behind Woodbury (182) and ahead of Hastings and Cretin-Derham Hall, who each shot 190. Stillwater won the tournament by 13 strokes over second-place Roseville with a 161. Individually, Kuenster won the tournament with a 34.
For the Raptors, sophomore Molly Richardson led the way with a 44 on the par-36 course. Also, Lehner and Anderson shot 46 and senior Celina Spencer carded a 49 to give the Raptors their top four scorers on the day.
Next, East Ridge is at River Oaks Golf Course in Cottage Grove for an SEC match on Friday before heading to Duluth’s Northland Golf Course on Monday for an invitational.
