Woodbury girls golf: Royals finish fourth at Prestwick in 10 team field

Woodbury sophomore Kalley Hakes shot a 43 and senior Maggie Sweeney had a 44 to lead the Royals girls golf team to a fourth place finish out of 10 teams at the school’s most recent Suburban East Conference match, held last Thursday at Prestwick Golf Club.
Woodbury took fourth place with a score of 182 – just behind Mounds View, which shot a 181 and ahead of host East Ridge which shot a 185. Stillwater won the tournament by 13 strokes over second-place Roseville with a 161. Individually, Cretin-Derham Hall’s Celia Kuenster won the tournament with a 34.
For Woodbury, in addition to Hakes and Sweeney, junior Katie Moore carded a 47 for the Royals’ third-best score and seniors Rachel Letsche and Kari Johnson each shot 48 to round out Woodbury’s top four.
Next, Woodbury competes in a SEC match at River Oaks Golf Course in Cottage Grove on Thursday.
