Police reports: Forced-entry burglary, cabbie's cologne swiped, photo-happy road rager

Police were called April 19 to Victoria’s Secret, 9020 Hudson Road, for a theft report. Police learned two suspects who had stolen eight bottles of perfume and a tote bag had left in a car. An officer caught up with the car on Interstate 94 and conducted a traffic stop. A search of the vehicle turned up the missing items. A Minneapolis woman and a Brooklyn Center woman were cited for theft.

A resident in the 8800 block of Pheasant Run Road reported an attempted burglary April 19. A woman reported coming home to find a window at the home open and disturbed. She left and called police, who did not locate any suspects. Nothing was reported missing.

A Cottage Grove woman reported April 20 that her cellphone was stolen at Wendy’s, 8376 Tamarack Village. The woman said she had left the phone on a bathroom counter at the restaurant. When she went to retrieve it 10 minutes later, it was missing. A GPS track of the phone placed it for a time on I-94 in Woodbury, though the signal was lost. Loss: $300.

A Woodbury woman reported a fire in the woods April 20 off Ashwood Road. Police checked the area and found two males fishing at a lake. The said the started a recreational fire to keep warm. Police said the fire was small and well contained, though the men were ordered to extinguish it.

A manager at Green Mill restaurant, 6003 Hudson Road, called April 20 to report an intoxicated customer. The man, who has no permanent address, was found by police to be “very intoxicated.” The man, whose family member refused to take him in, was transported to a detoxification facility in Hastings.

A Woodbury woman reported April 21 that her license plate was stolen from her vehicle at some point while shopping in the city.

Police were called April 22 to a house in the 6900 of Macbeth Circle for a theft report. A cab driver said he brought three males to a residence there. After paying the fare, one of the males took a bottle of cologne from the cab’s glove box. Police made contact with the suspect, who denied stealing the cologne. A search of the residence did not turn up any further evidence.

A resident in the 6200 block of Edgewood Avenue reported April 22 that her vehicle had been entered and a purse was taken. Investigation revealed a missing debit card had already been used at a Woodbury gas station.

Police were called April 22 to the 6100 block of Courtly Alcove for an auto theft report. A woman there said her 2009 Honda Accord that had been parked in a visitor parking area and was now missing. Loss: $19,000.

A resident in the 6100 block of Dell Lane reported April 22 that his detached garage had been burglarized. Golf clubs and golf accessories were reported missing. Loss: $1,300.

Witnesses reported April 22 seeing pry marks on a door of a home in the 3000 block of Manning Avenue South. The resident later confirmed that a hunting bow was missing from the garage. There was other evidence that the residence had been burglarized. The resident said she had been burglarized about two weeks ago as well. Loss: $300.

An Afton resident reported April 23 that she inadvertently cut off another driver. The other driver, a male, followed her to her destination and got out of his vehicle. The complainant said the man appeared to be taking photos of her vehicle. He got back in his vehicle and left.

A resident in the 8800 block of Summer Wind Circle reported April 23 that he heard a loud explosion in his backyard, just before the power went out. Xcel Energy was notified.
