East Ridge softball: Raptors split with Cretin- Derham Hall, Forest Lake

After beating rival Woodbury on Monday, the East Ridge softball team went 1-1 in a pair of Suburban East Conference games last week to stay at .500 on the year.

After beating rival Woodbury on Monday, the East Ridge softball team went 1-1 in a pair of Suburban East Conference games last week to stay at .500 on the year.

East Ridge (5-5; 5-5 SEC) beat Cretin-Derham Hall 9-3 and lost to Forest Lake 8-6.

Cretin-Derham Hall fell to 3-8 overall and 3-8 in the conference with the loss. Forest Lake, which is ranked third in the state, improved to 10-1 overall and 10-1 in the SEC, which is good for first place in the standings. East Ridge is fifth in the conference standings – two games ahead of Hastings and Park, which are 4-7.

On the year, freshman outfielder Ali Robinson leads the team in batting with a .385 average. Senior catcher Taylor LeMay is second with a .364 average to go along with a team-best seven RBI and one homerun. Robinson is second in RBI with six followed by sophomore Kayla Bohlke with five RBI. Freshman Olivia Huffman is third in batting with a .294 average. Eighth grader Megan Tarara leads the team in steals with five and has one homerun. Also, eighth grader Anna Roth has one homerun on the year.

East Ridge was at Hastings on Monday, after the Bulletin went to press. Next up is Mounds View on Wednesday at East Ridge.
