Just in time for prom, Woodbury High School students got to see what a real car crash as a result of drunk driving can do.

The students saw a mock crash Friday where two people were dead and others were injured because a student was driving drunk after the party.

“Hopefully it’ll be a wakeup call for a lot of people,” said student Logan Dirx, who played the drunk driver in the scene.

A member of Students Against Drunk Driving, Dirx said he hopes the event has a strong effect on the rest of the student body.

Woodbury High School Resource Officer Bill Mason got teary eyed as he watched the staged scene that killed a young girl.

He told the students although it was a mock crash, the scene is as real as it gets and everyone has to think of the consequences before getting behind the wheel after drinking.
