Lake Elmo Democrats Bunn, DeGree receive party endorsements

The Lake Elmo Democrat, who represented House District 56A for two years in the Legislature, received her party’s endorsement Saturday to run as a candidate in the newly formed Senate District 39. She will run against incumbent Sen. Ray Vandeveer, R-Forest Lake.

Also endorsed at the convention – held at Stillwater Area High School – was Lake Elmo resident Tom DeGree. He will run in House District 39B against incumbent Rep. Kathy Lohmer, R-Lake Elmo.

Lindstrom resident John Bruno was endorsed to run in House District 39A, which comprises the northern part of the district.

Senate District 39 includes Franconia Township, Shafer, Forest Lake, Scandia, May Township, Marine on St. Croix, Grant, Pine Springs, Stillwater, Lake Elmo, Oak Park Heights, Baytown Township, Bayport, West Lakeland Township, Lakeland, Lakeland Shores, Lake St. Croix Beach and St. Mary’s Point.
