Boys basketball: Pahl, Suggs to play in All-Star game

When Osseo topped Lakeville North in the Minnesota Class AAAA state championship game last week, the high school basketball season came to an end.
However, a pair of area players will take the court one more time.
East Ridge senior Justin Pahl and Woodbury senior Rickey Suggs were among 40 players selected to compete in the 30th annual Minnesota High School All-Star Basketball Series.
Pahl, a shooting guard, will play for the Green team, coached by Minneapolis South head coach Joe Hyser and assistant coach Jason Daisy. Suggs, a shooting guard, will be on the Blue team with head coach Ron Vorwald ofWorthington and assistant coach Gary Holmseth of Blue Earth.
Doubleheaders will be played Friday at Halenbeck Hall on the campus of St. Cloud State University and Saturday at Leonard Center on the campus of Macalester College in St. Paul.
On Friday, the first tip-off is scheduled at 7 p.m. with the final game at 8:45 p.m. Games are 2:15 p.m. and 4 p.m. Saturday in St. Paul.
Three-point shooting and dunk contests precede each game both days. Tickets are $8 for adults and $6 for students (children age 5 and under are free). For more information, go to www.mshsca.org/boysbasketball.
