Letter to the editor: Lillie should think twice about Woodbury move
Letter to the editor for March 21.
Lillie might want to think twice about Woodbury move
Last week, a letter about Sen. Ted Lillie moving to Woodbury to run for Senate in an empty seat from Dennis Schneider was spot on. There are only a few things I would like to add. The old Senate District 56 was quite a bit more red (read: Republican) than the newly created District 53. Sen. Lillie only won election by about 1,000 votes in a year that was a Republican windfall. The new District 53 is quite different in its makeup and history for elections. It is a presidential election year with quite a struggle to find an electable Republican presidential candidate.
One of my suggestions to Sen. Lillie, if he decides to relocate to run, is to remember some things. Woodbury loves their own. Elections are about issues and personalities and what record incumbents have. Finally, I would suggest that you don't sell your Lake Elmo residents of all those many years. You might want to go back.
Woodbury likes representatives that think and not just help tow the party barge up the river.
