Notice to Announce Public Comment Period and Public Hearing
for the Draft 2012 CDBG and HOME Annual Action Plan
Notice is hereby given to announce a public comment period beginning Wednesday, March 21, 2012 and ending Friday, April 20, 2012. The draft 2012 Annual Action Plan describes how 2012 funds from the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and Home Investment Partnerships Programs (HOME) will be used for activities that will help address the priority needs and objectives in the 2010-2014 Consolidated Plan. Copies of the Draft 2012 Annual Action Plan will be available for review at the Washington County Government Center, located at 14949 62nd Street North in Stillwater, Room 200, at each county library, and online at http://www.co.washington.mn.us/info_for_residents/community_services/housing. Persons wishing to obtain a copy of the draft should contact Karin Reinert at 651-430-6502. Upon request, attempts will be made to provide the draft in an alternative format.

The proposed uses for 2012 funds are as follows:
Washington County Housing & Redevelopment Authority: $115,356 (CDBG) to assist in the Phase 3 renovations at a 30-unit senior housing complex in the City of Forest Lake.
City of Lakeland: Conditional Reservation of $110,410 (HOME) to assist with the development of 70 units of rental housing in the City of Lakeland.
Required 15% set aside for CHDO eligible activity in Washington County: $22,082 (HOME) Activity to be determined.
Washington County Homeowner Rehab Loan Program: $277,754 (CDBG) to assist Washington County homeowners with home improvements by providing zero interest loans for both exterior and interior home improvements.
Washington County: $54,430.00 (CDBG) for direct financial assistance to homeless individuals and families.
Washington County: $36,287.00 (CDBG) for an Eligibility Specialist to service homeless and at-risk individuals and households.
Washington County & Dakota County: $135,677.00 (CDBG and HOME) for program administration.
