    Sophomore wrestler Reid Lyden become the first Raptors wrestler in history to win a state match and went on to take sixth place, becoming the first-ever Raptors’ All-State wrestler last week.

East Ridge’s Reid Lyden made history last week.

Lyden, a sophomore 106-pound wrestler, defeated Mound-Westonka freshman Sam Bennyhoff in the first round of the 2011-12 state tournament on Friday, March 2, at the Xcel Energy Center at St. Paul to become the first Raptors wrestler in history to win a state match. He went on to take sixth place, becoming the first-ever Raptors’ All-State wrestler.
