Woodbury will tap off its biggest game of the year – so far – tonight at the Lion’s Den.
The game pits the Royals against Roseville in a battle for the outright lead of the Suburban East Conference. Both teams are locked in a tie for the lead at 13-2 in conference play.
The Royals defeated the Raiders on the road in December, winning 89-75.
Regardless who grabs the lead, tonight’s game does not bring an end to the 2011-12 regular season. Both teams have two games remaining on the schedule, including match-ups that could be stumbling blocks.
Woodbury’s last two games are on the road: Park (0-15 SEC) on Tuesday and Mounds View (9-6 SEC) on March 2 in the regular season finale. Woodbury limited both Park and Mounds View to 37 points in earlier wins this season.
Roseville’s home stretch begins with a road game against White Bear Lake (8-7) and a home finale against Hastings (3-12). The Raiders beat Hastings and White Bear Lake already this year.
Section play begins early next month and could draw a rematch: both Woodbury and Roseville are in Section 4AAAA.
