The District 833 School Board plans two upcoming meetings to gather public input as it begins searching for a new superintendent.
The board, which recently hired a consulting firm to lead the South Washington County Schools superintendent search, is seeking public input on "characteristics desired in a new superintendent."
The first meeting will be Monday, Feb. 13 at the District Service Center in Cottage Grove.
A second meeting is planned for Tuesday, Feb. 21 at Woodbury High School.
Both meetings are scheduled from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The superintendent search was triggered by the board's decision not to renew Superintendent Mark Porter's contract when it expires at the end of June.
According to a timeline established by the board and its consulting firm, the next superintendent is to be named by the end of May.
