It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s Superhero Training Camp!

Superhero fans had a chance to test their super skills, in their best superhero disguises, during District 833 Community Education’s Superhero Training Camp Jan. 14 in the Woodbury High School Activities Center.

During the event every super boy brought with him his favorite super female sidekick — mother, grandmother, sister or aunt — for a day of superhero games and training.

Some of the activities included an inflatable King Kong, an obstacle course race, super hero floor hockey, “The blob” sumo wrestling, the “Penguin Parachute,” pin the symbol on Superman and even a life-size game of foosball.

Community Education started the Superhero Training Camp three years ago so mothers and their sons have a fun activity, since the girls already had the Cinderella Swing event with their fathers in February.
