Three department heads seeking Washington County's top post

The Washington County Board was expected to interview three county officials for the soon-to-be vacant administrator position at a special meeting Wednesday.

The Washington County Board was expected to interview three county officials for the soon-to-be vacant administrator position at a special meeting Wednesday.

Commissioners will interview Kevin Corbid, director of Property Records and Taxpayer Services; Don Theisen, director of Public Works; and Molly O'Rourke, the county's current deputy administrator, for Washington County's top staff position. The interviews will begin at 9 a.m. in board's meeting room at the Washington County Government Center in Stillwater.

County Administrator Jim Schug is set to retire late this month. He said Tuesday the board could authorize the selection of his replacement as early as a Jan. 17 meeting. Commissioners voted last fall to use consultant Springsted to assist in its internal administrator search.
