Woodbury basketball: Royals sink Raptors 64-44

The Royals stayed unbeaten in the Suburban East Conference Tuesday in a rivalry win over East Ridge.

The Royals stayed unbeaten in the Suburban East Conference Tuesday in a rivalry win over East Ridge.

Woodbury topped the Raptors 64-44 in the home victory. Royals junior Renard Suggs stayed hot, scoring 21 points in the game.

The win improved Woodbury’s overall record to 7-2 (3-0 SEC).

Raptors senior Justin Pahl led all East Ridge scorers with 12 points.

Woodbury jumped to a comfortable lead in the first half, heading into halftime ahead 35-18. The Royals stayed in control during the second half, leading 29-26.

Woodbury’s Connor McKeen and Ben Rexroth – both seniors – poured in 10 points apiece.

East Ridge senior Yaroslav Doroshenko added nine points for the Raptors.

The Royals return to action Friday in a road game against Stillwater. East Ridge (4-5 overall, 1-1 SEC) plays host Friday to Hastings.
