Last week the East Ridge girls hockey team kept things close with a pair of Suburban East Conference powers, but weren’t able to pull off an upset.
The Raptors (2-5; 0-3 SEC) fell 2-0 to eighth-ranked White Bear Lake on Saturday, Dec. 3, in White Bear Lake after losing to seventh-ranked Stillwater 3-0 on Monday, Nov. 28.
Against the Bears (5-1; 3-0 SEC) East Ridge junior goalie Katie Ahmann stopped 31 shots and held White Bear Lake to two goals – one in the first period and one in the second period – in the loss. East Ridge had 21 shots on goal, but couldn’t sneak one into the White Bear goal.
Versus Stillwater, East Ridge played the Ponies to a 0-0 first period. However, Stillwater (5-1; 3-0 SEC) scored two goals in the second period and got another one in the third to earn the win.
Freshman goalie Paige Press got the start between the pipes and stopped 32 of 35 shots in the game. East Ridge had 19 shots in the game.
East Ridge traveled to Hastings on Tuesday, Dec. 6, after the Bulletin went to print. Next, the Raptors are in St. Paul to face off with Cretin-Derham Hall in a SEC game on Saturday, Dec. 10. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
