Boys lacrosse: Woodbury gets black and blue

The city of Woodbury Parks and Recreation department and the Woodbury and East Ridge high school lacrosse programs played host to the first-ever Woodbury Black and Blue Youth Lacrosse Invitational on Saturday and Sunday, July 23 and 24, at Bielenberg Sports Complex.

The city of Woodbury Parks and Recreation department and the Woodbury and East Ridge high school lacrosse programs played host to the first-ever Woodbury Black and Blue Youth Lacrosse Invitational on Saturday and Sunday, July 23 and 24, at Bielenberg Sports Complex.

This past weekend, 38 metro area lacrosse teams from grades three to eight flocked to Bielenberg for the inaugural event.

In addition to the games, team and individual speed shot contests were held each day, food was available from Culvers and vendors like Strauss Skates and Bicycles, Perfect Pocket, ETS Gym, Homegrown Lacrosse and the Minnesota Swarm were on hand.

At the first tournament, Centennial (3/4), Lakeville (5/6), Oakdale (7/8B) and Wayzata (7/8A) earned championship titles.
