Would-be School Board members can file Aug. 2

The District 833 School Board election filing period begins Tuesday, Aug. 2.

The District 833 School Board election filing period begins Tuesday, Aug. 2.

Three four-year seats will be on the Nov. 8 ballot. The seats are currently held by Leslee Boyd of Woodbury, Jim Gelbmann of Woodbury and Ron Kath of Cottage Grove. All have indicated they are running for re-election.

Candidates must by 21 years old by Jan. 1, 2012 and have lived in the district for at least 30 days before the election.

Packets containing information about becoming a school board member, including affidavits of candidacy and campaign manuals from the Secretary of State's Office, are available at the District Service Center, 7362 E. Point Douglas Road in Cottage Grove, from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays.
