Behind 92 points, the Woodbury boys basketball team kept its season alive, beating Henry Sibley 92-79 in the Section 4AAAA play-in game on Tuesday, March 8, at Woodbury High School.
Eighth-seeded Woodbury (11-16) built a slim 46-44 lead at the half and expanded on it, outscoring the ninth-seeded Warriors (6-17) 46-35 in the second half.
Juniors Rickey Suggs and Ryan Fritze each had a game-high 24 points in the win. Additionally, Renard Suggs, a sophomore, and Connor McKeen, a junior, each scored 12 points. Woodbury’s point total was nearly a season high. The Royals scored 94 points in a win over Hastings on Feb. 4.
The Royals will now face top-seed and seventh-ranked Tartan (23-3) on Friday, March 11, at Tartan High School in the Section 4AAAA quarterfinals.
