A last-second basket by East Ridge senior Dayo Idowu helped the East Ridge boys basketball team earn a 76-74 overtime win over non-conference foe Chanhassen on Tuesday, Dec. 21 at East Ridge High School.
After Chanhassen tied the game 74-74 with less than three seconds remaining in overtime, Idowu, who had 12 points in the game, hit a two point jump shot as time expired to lift the Raptors (2-2) to the win.
In addition to Idowu’s heroics, junior guard Justin Paul had a team-high 18 points and Jake Coquyt and John Hietpas each scored 11 points against Chanhassen (2-4).
Next, East Ridge takes part in the Trinity School holiday tournament, which begins Tuesday, Dec. 28, in Mendota Heights.
