East Ridge High School has received 10 Hennepin Theatre Trust Spotlight Awards for its fall musical “Beauty and the Beast."
The Spotlight Musical Theatre Program is an educational initiative of Hennepin Theatre Trust that provides support and training to young people who will carry the performing arts into the future. Now in its sixth year, Spotlight honors high school musical productions from around the state. Throughout the year, students in this unique program are offered many opportunities to learn, perform and participate.
The Spotlight Awards that East Ridge received are:
- Outstanding orchestra
- Honorable mention for overall performance
- Outstanding in a leading role for Peter Silva, Gaston, and Vincent
Bedard, Lumiere
- Honorable mention for a leading role for Kajsa Jone, Belle, Adam
Michelson, Cogsworth, and Julia Reimann, Mrs. Potts
- Outstanding supporting role for Austin Robinson, Lefou
- Honorable mention for supporting role for Alyssa Wynn, Babette
- Honorable mention for featured role for Joe Johnson, the narrator
