District 622 School Board candidate profile: Amy Coborn

Civic Involvement: Member of the District 622 Citizens Advisory Committee on Curriculum from 2007-2010 and member of the District 622 Citizens Finance Committee
Reasons for running for School Board: Coborn said she decided to run for election to the District 622 School Board because it would be the next step in her involvement with education.
Coborn has been a teacher, served on various school committees and activities.
“It just seemed like a natural step to further my involvement,” she said.
Platform: Coborn said she isn’t coming into the election with any pre-set agenda, she just wants to continue the district’s move forward.
“I know there’s some major financial issues ahead,” she said. “But the district is good at moving forward and I want to be a part of continuing that.”

“I can help be creative and bring a different side to issues,” she said. “I’m passionate about doing what’s best for kids.”
