District 622 School Board candidate profile: Rich Bennett

Reasons for running for School Board: Bennett said he decided to run for election to the District 622 School Board because he has had two daughters go through the district and has been watching the district since the late 1980s.
Platform: Bennett said the issues he is most concerned with in District 622 is the district’s financial performance and the emphasis on student performance.
Specifically, in terms of student performance, Bennett said he would like to see a bigger emphasis placed on No Child Left Behind and on improving instruction.
Bennett said he would also like to see increased communication with families through the cable networks.
“We need to drive improved instruction and communicate it to the people who are paying the bill.”
Additionally Bennett said he promises to be in the schools at least twice per week.
