Civic Involvement: District 834 School Board from 2006-2010, member of the Washington County Health Improvement Plan committee and a member of the Washington County Workforce Investment Board.
Reasons for running for school board: Fleischman said she is running for re-election to the District 834 School Board because she wants to continue to help the district move forward.
“We’re in a really exciting place right now,” she said. “We’re moving forward with some really big ideas.”
Platform: Fleischman said the issues that the District 834 School Board should be concerned with over the next four years is working toward realizing the 2014 Vision, working with budget constraints and possible boundary changes within the district because of uneven student populations within the schools.

“I’m not somebody who’s into hobbies, I’m into trying to fulfill a greater purpose,” she said. “It really gives me a way I can better help the community.”
