District 834 School Board candidate profile: Natalie Fedie

Incumbent Natalie Fedie said her experiences in marketing and communication is a benefit to the school board, as is her experience in government agencies and the public sector.

Civic Involvement: District 834 School Board from 2007-2010, District 834 Policy Committee, District 834 Personnel and Negotiations Committee, representative to Association of Metropolitan School Districts

Reasons for running for School Board: Fedie said she decided to run for her second term on the District 834 School Board because the amount of work that still remains to be completed within the school district.

“We’ve done a lot,” she said. “But, there’s still a lot more to be done.”

Platform: The two areas that Fedie is concerned with facing the district includes state funding and overcrowding at the district’s schools because of continued growth.

Fedie said the District 834 Vision 2014 will also be a priority.

“Vision 2014 is going to really address some of the opportunities we have available,” she said.

Brings to School Board: Fedie said her experiences in marketing and communication is a benefit to the school board, as is her experience in government agencies and the public sector.

“I understand the importance of communications and transparencies and engaging the community,” she said.
