Not so fast: Council slows project to curb speeding
The Woodbury City Council put the brakes on a citizen-supported plan to slow speeding traffic on a residential street.
The Woodbury City Council put the brakes on a citizen-supported plan to slow speeding traffic on a residential street.
Responding to complaints of speeding vehicles along Woodcrest Drive, city workers proposed installing modified speed bumps – called “speed tables” – to encourage slower travel between Valley Creek Road and Ironwood Drive.
Public works staff sought approval for the project Wednesday, but council members voted to table the request until after a broader discussion about how the city will consider other similar requests for so-called “traffic calming improvements.”
Council members said they are not opposed to the project, but the issue needs more review.
