Mayor candidates meet for final election forum
In a forum sponsored by the Woodbury Bulletin, the candidates separated themselves most while responding to a question about their leadership style.
The six Woodbury residents vying to be the next mayor laid out their plans for the job at a Tuesday night forum. It was the final public event before the Nov. 2 election.
The candidates include: Rachel Homuth, Nick Kiecker, Eddie Marcus, Art McCloskey, Tom Owens and Mary Giuliani Stephens. They are running to replace Mayor Bill Hargis, who is retiring.
In a forum sponsored by the Woodbury Bulletin, the candidates separated themselves most while responding to a question about their leadership style.
The candidates also differed on whether the city should continue its 50-50 food sales requirement for restaurants with a liquor license; how they would approach a city budget shortfall; and what they would want their single-greatest accomplishment to be.
The forum was broadcast live on Channel 18 by the South Washington County Telecommunications Commission. It will be rebroadcast on Channel 18 at 9 a.m. Monday, 7 p.m. Wednesday, 7 a.m. Friday and 5 p.m. Saturday until Nov. 1.
